Google has established its first brick-and-mortar store located in Chelsea, New York City. This comes after the company’s hints to open a physical store barely a month ago.
The Google Store will house the brand’s most popular smartphones and its smart home products. Google got into the manufacturing of smartphones and other smart speakers. It has been retailing all of its products through its online store up till now. Google is now giving its customers the chance to shop physically for its ever-growing variety of products.
The Google Store will not be like any normal store; Google has put a lot of attention to detail; its aim with the store was to make the customers feel warm and aesthetically pleasing. Their store is not just a retail centre; it is an experience store. Users can try out and test their products from the Pixel devices to their Nest products.
Users will also get a glimpse of history as they can see how Google’s software and services like Google Search, Google Assistant, Maps, YouTube and Stadia came to being.
The first thing that catches the eye of the user when they enter the store is the 17-foot-tall circular glass structure which the company calls the Google Imagination Space. Designed and Engineered with local New York partners, the space has custom interactive screens with rotating exhibits of Google’s top products and tech.
The structure will also provide for real-time translation of your speech into 24 different languages simultaneously. A separate section of the device is responsible for providing hands-on interaction with the products.
Google has employed a team of store attendants who are well versed with the products to answer all of the customer’s queries. The store also offers repairs and troubleshoots problems on the spot.
