BTS’ ongoing ARIRANG World Tour hit another rough patch on September 5, 2026, when a clip from Day 3 at SoFi Stadium showed an attendee reaching out and grabbing j-hope while he performed IDOL close to the crowd. The footage, filmed from above, quickly spread online — and fans didn’t hold back their frustration.
What Happened at SoFi Stadium
During BTS’ third of four sold-out ARIRANG shows in Los Angeles, j-hope was dancing near the barricade in his red stage outfit when the clip captured a fan physically grabbing him. It’s brief, but enough to reignite an ongoing conversation ARMY has been having all tour long: touching idols without consent isn’t affection, it’s a boundary violation.
Fans flooded X with reactions like “Please don’t touch Hobi like that” and pointed out this isn’t an isolated case — earlier LA shows saw a phone thrown at Jimin and liquid sprayed toward Jin mid-performance.
BTS Recap: LA ARIRANG Safety Incidents
| Date | Member | Incident |
|---|---|---|
| Sept 1 (Day 1) | Jimin | Phone thrown from audience |
| Sept 1–3 | Jin | Liquid sprayed toward stage |
| Sept 5 (Day 3) | j-hope | Grabbed by attendee during IDOL |
Why Fans Are Speaking Up
This isn’t the first time j-hope has faced unwanted physical contact on tour — similar incidents happened during his solo Hope on the Stage run too. ARMY’s repeated response has been consistent: idols choosing to get close to fans doesn’t mean consent to grab them. Many worry that repeated incidents like this could push artists to stop crowd interactions altogether, taking away a moment fans genuinely treasure.

Conclusion
BTS’ ARIRANG Tour has been a record-breaking comeback since the members completed military service, but incidents like this are a reminder that stadium-scale fame comes with real safety gaps. As the tour heads into its South American leg next, expect tighter barricade security — and louder fan-led calls for respect.
