Intel’s Core i9-11900KB appears in the first-ever benchmark online

A couple of weeks ago we had a mysterious appearance of an AMD Ryzen APU, and now it seems that another mysterious processor has popped online, but this time it’s from Intel. According to the latest sources, a Core i9-11900KB “Tiger Lake” desktop CPU was spotted online.

During the testing of intel’s upcoming NUC 11 Extreme “Beast Canyon,” it showed that the CPU performing similarly to Intel’s socketed eight-core Core i9-11900K “Rocket Lake.” It’s been speculated the i9-11900KB will be on par with some of the best CPUs with an octa-core chip with Hyper-Threading. It also has amazing clock speeds of 3.3 / 4.9 / 5.3 GHz.

The CPU also has 24MB of cache and a 65W TDP. The NUC which was being tested also used an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060. The results of tests were allegedly posted at 3DMark TimeSpy and Fire Strike benchmarks. While 3DMark does not represent performance in real-world games and applications, but it is a good evaluator of the overall capabilities of a PC.

However, when comparing the results, even though the Core i9-11900KB has a higher base frequency, along with high burst clocks and a larger cache, it still couldn’t beat the Core i9-11900K in the 3DMark Time Spy CPU test.

But the processor managed to slightly outperform the Rocket Lake in the 3DMark Fire Strike Physics test. It’s hopeful to see that intel is, slowly but surely, improving its CPUs performance. Its upcoming NUC 11 Extreme “Beast Canyon” doesn’t have a price or release date yet but it will be smaller than standard desktop PCs and will offer a powerful CPU on par with bigger systems.
