Rockstar Games’ GTA 6 Extended Look dropped on Netflix and YouTube, and while the headline moments dominated conversation, the footage was absolutely packed with subtle systems and mechanics that easily slipped past most viewers on a first watch.

GTA 6 Confirmed Release Date

Rockstar reconfirmed GTA 6 will launch November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, alongside a genuinely dense gameplay reveal.

GTA 6 Extended Look: Small Details, Big Impact

Feature	What It Does
Honor System	Actions like petting a dog raise your honor level, echoing Red Dead Redemption 2
Car Theft Options	Choose between breaking windows or using a slim jim to open doors
3D Mini-Map	Detailed map showing buildings rendered in three dimensions
Police Escape Options	Climb out of car windows and fire back at pursuing police
Wanted System Icons	Five new HUD icons track exactly what police know about you

Cracking the New Wanted System

The reveal showed five distinct icons appearing under your star rating during a robbery sequence: a camera icon indicating store surveillance is active, a two-character icon showing both fugitives are wanted, a clothing icon meaning police know your outfit, and a face icon signalling they’ve identified your appearance. Together, these give players a far clearer read on exactly how much heat they’re carrying at any moment.

A Genuinely Cinematic Upgrade

Beyond the systems themselves, small touches like more detailed crash physics when shooting out police tyres show just how much attention Rockstar has poured into making every interaction feel weighty and cinematic rather than purely mechanical.

Why It Matters

With the full Extended Look confirming reworked movement, choice-driven narrative design, and replay-focused storytelling, GTA 6 is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious open-world releases ever attempted. Full gameplay footage is available on Rockstar Games’ official YouTube channel.
