Khalifa Part 1 Twitter Review Is In And Fans Can’t Agree Whether Prithviraj’s New Action Thriller

Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Khalifa: Part 1 hit theaters on August 20, 2026, and the internet wasted no time weighing in. Directed by Vysakh and featuring a much-talked-about cameo from Mohanlal, the film is already splitting opinion right down the middle — and here’s exactly what viewers are saying.

What Twitter Is Saying on Khalifa?

One user called it an apologetic action entertainer with a predictable plot, though they credited the climax and overall treatment with giving it commercial appeal. Another was harsher, rating it 2.5 out of 5 and pointing out that aside from the introduction and two solid fight sequences, there wasn’t much to hold interest — while still crediting director Vysakh’s style even as they criticized the script.

A third viewer leaned skeptical too, calling it an ordinary action film with unimaginative writing and noting that the Mohanlal cameo scene, while forced, ended up being the film’s best theatrical moment. On the flip side, one fan praised Prithviraj directly, saying his restrained performance and body language gave his character Aamir Ali real presence, while also highlighting the film’s well-staged action and technical work.

What’s The Story About

Khalifa: Part 1 follows Aamir Ali, who runs a sprawling gold-trading business across the Middle East, London, Nepal, and Kerala. The story leans into themes of legacy and power as Aamir inherits a business empire built by his grandfather, Mambarakkal Ahammadali — and the film centers on whether he can live up to that inheritance.

The cast rounds out with Neil Nitin Mukesh and Malvika Sharma in key roles, alongside Mohanlal as Aamir’s grandfather, plus Renji Panicker, Indrans, and Mohini in supporting parts.

Should You Watch It

Based on the reactions so far, expectations should probably be tempered — this isn’t being hailed as a genre-redefining thriller. But between the action sequences, Prithviraj’s performance, and the Mohanlal cameo, there’s enough here to justify a watch, especially for fans of the lead actor.
