BSNL just dropped a festive surprise — and it’s not another recharge offer. Speaking at a Vijayawada press meet on Independence Day weekend, BSNL Andhra Pradesh Circle CGM M. Seshachalam confirmed that 5G services will roll out in the state within 5–6 months, backed by “positive” trial results already underway.

While rivals raced ahead with 5G years ago, BSNL — as detailed on Wikipedia — has been steadily rebuilding its network muscle through government-backed 4G expansion, and now 5G is next on the roadmap. For more telecom rollout updates, check our BSNL 4G tower expansion coverage on TechnoSports.

Beyond 5G: The Bigger Picture

It’s not just about faster internet. BSNL is simultaneously pushing satellite phones, e-SIM services, Entertainment TV, and enterprise solutions — while also expanding franchise partnerships across the country. Last year, the PSU giant clocked around ₹24,500 crore in revenue and turned an operational profit for the first time in years, a sign that its comeback story is more than just talk.

If BSNL sticks to this timeline, Andhra Pradesh could see 5G towers lighting up villages and towns well before mid-2027 — a big deal for a state where BSNL has quietly been laying groundwork through its Saturation Project.
