K-drama fans had a big night on August 2, as two of the biggest current shows on Korean TV smashed their own viewership records. Both tvN and KBS 2TV dramas climbed to all-time highs, proving these stories are only getting stronger as they head toward their final stretch.
Spooky in Love and Love on the Menu: Ratings Snapshot
| Show | Channel | Latest Rating | Milestone |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spooky in Love | tvN | 6.0% | Highest yet, #1 in its time slot (cable) |
| Love on the Menu | KBS 2TV | 13.3% | Highest yet, top show of the day |
| The Apartment Job | JTBC | 5.4% | Steady rise |
| The Husband | KBS 2TV | 7.2% | Strong ahead of finale week |
Spooky in Love Wraps Its First Half on a High
tvN’s Spooky in Love closed out the first half of its run in style. According to Nielsen Korea, the latest episode took first place in its time slot across all cable channels, pulling in an average nationwide rating of 6.0 percent — its best performance since the show began.
Love on the Menu Becomes Sunday’s Most-Watched Show
KBS 2TV’s Love on the Menu had an even bigger night. Its fourth episode climbed to an average nationwide rating of 13.3 percent, making it the most-watched show of any kind that aired on Sunday — a huge jump that signals growing buzz around the drama as it builds momentum.
Other Dramas Holding Steady
It wasn’t just these two making headlines. JTBC’s The Apartment Job rose to a 5.4 percent average rating for its latest episode, while KBS 2TV’s The Husband scored a solid 7.2 percent nationwide average as it heads into its final week — a strong sendoff for a series wrapping up soon.
Why These Numbers Matter
In the world of Korean television, nationwide ratings are the clearest signal of how a drama is resonating with audiences in real time. Both Spooky in Love and Love on the Menu hitting new highs mid-run — rather than fading as episodes progress — suggests strong word-of-mouth and growing viewer investment, a great sign for both shows as they move into their next chapters.
Where to Watch
Fans outside Korea can catch Love on the Menu with subtitles streaming on Viki, making it easy to follow along with the record-breaking drama in real time.
