Toxic Trailer Drops on August 8: Yash Unveils Striking New Poster for the Most Anticipated Pan-Indian Film of 2026

The countdown has officially begun. The excitement surrounding Geetu Mohandas’ directorial Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has reached a new high as Yash officially announced the release date of the film’s much-awaited trailer, confirming it will arrive on August 8, 2026, ahead of the film’s worldwide theatrical release on August 26, 2026.

Taking to Instagram, the makers announced the trailer release date by sharing a new poster of Yash, captioning it: “The countdown has begun. #ToxicTrailer on 08-08-2026. #Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups in cinemas worldwide from 26-08-2026.”

The New Poster: Dark, Moody, and Unmistakably Yash

The newly released poster perfectly captures the film’s gritty and mysterious atmosphere. Presented in dramatic black-and-white, it features Yash standing alone on a rain-soaked cobblestone street with a weapon in hand, surrounded by flying bullets. The haunting visual hints at an intense underworld narrative filled with danger, violence, and high-stakes action, while reinforcing the film’s stylish cinematic aesthetic.

The latest poster features the silhouette of Yash’s character, Raya, holding a Tommy gun against a dramatic backdrop. Staying consistent with the film’s marketing strategy, the artwork offers only a glimpse into the protagonist’s world while keeping the larger narrative under wraps. Rather than revealing key plot points, the poster leans into the mystery surrounding the film, prompting fans to continue speculating about its storyline.

Kiara Advani’s Birthday Poster: Nadia Enters the Frame

A day before the trailer announcement, the team had released a poster of Kiara Advani as her character Nadia to mark her birthday, featuring a close-up of the actor in a red outfit holding a red sakura hand fan. The caption read, “Wishing a very Happy Birthday to our Nadia – Team #Toxic.”

Trailer Launch: A Symbolic Milestone in Bengaluru

The trailer will be launched in Bengaluru, making the city the starting point of the film’s promotional campaign. The venue holds significance as it is the home state of both leading star Yash and production house KVN Productions.

Adding to the occasion, August 8 also marks exactly two years since Toxic officially went on floors, making the trailer launch a symbolic milestone in the film’s journey.

The trailer launch will take place at a grand event in Bengaluru, where the film’s cast and production team are expected to be present.

A Road Riddled With Delays

Geetu Mohandas’ gritty thriller was initially set to release on March 19, but due to a box-office clash with Aditya Dhar’s much-acclaimed spy thriller Dhurandhar, the makers decided to postpone it. It was then shifted to June 4, but the film was pushed again — this time to August.

The movie also sparked intense online and legal controversy over its bold promotional teaser. The first teaser, released in January 2026, showed Yash in a sexually explicit car scene, prompting social activists and the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) women’s wing in Karnataka to file formal complaints.

Despite the turbulence, Producer Venkat K. Narayana confirmed in a media interaction on July 23, 2026, that the upcoming action drama is firmly locked for a worldwide theatrical release on August 26, 2026.
