PS5 Just Got Rs 15,000 Pricier in India — Here’s the Upgraded Price to Amaze You!

Sony’s global memory shortage triggers a steep 28% hike, pushing the PS5 Standard Edition well past the Rs 69,000 mark.Gamers hoping to grab a PS5 in India will now need to loosen their wallets a lot more. Sony has officially hiked the PlayStation 5 Standard Edition’s price by a steep Rs 15,000.

What Changed in PS5 Pricing?

The PS5 Standard Edition, previously priced at Rs 54,990, now costs Rs 69,990 in India, marking a nearly 28% price increase. Sony confirmed the hike through updated MRP stickers on new retail stock and Sony Center listings.

The company has cited the ongoing global memory shortage as the primary driver behind the increase, the same issue that has already pushed up PS5 prices in the US, UK, Japan, and Southeast Asia. Beyond memory shortages, rising manufacturing costs tied to growing global demand for memory and storage chipsets have also driven up prices across gaming laptops, graphics cards, and other PC hardware over the past year.

Interestingly, the PS5 Digital Edition, which was last revised from Rs 44,990 to Rs 49,990 in July of the previous year, has not yet received an updated price, as it is currently unlisted on Sony’s official ShopAtSC store. Udaipur Kiran
