Ryu Jun Yeol’s “Mousetrap” Sets August Premiere with Gripping New Trailer

Netflix unveils a chilling identity-theft thriller as the reclusive novelist teams up with a ruthless loan shark to reclaim his stolen life.

Netflix’s upcoming thriller “Mousetrap“ has finally dropped its first trailer and poster, confirming an August 28 premiere date for one of the platform’s most intriguing new K-dramas.

What “Mousetrap” Is About

Based on the webtoon “Field Mouse,” the series follows Moon Jae, a reclusive novelist who loses everything — his name, identity, and fortune — to a mysterious figure known only as “The Rat.” To reclaim his life, he teams up with an unlikely ally: the loan shark who once relentlessly pursued him. Together, the two set off on a tense, action-packed chase where the line between truth and deception constantly blurs.

Ryu Jun Yeol stars as Moon Jae, whose isolated life is upended when a mobile banking app suddenly fails to recognize his fingerprint, locking him out of his own identity. Sul Kyung Gu plays No Ja, a hard-edged loan shark who joins him on the hunt. The trailer highlights Moon Jae’s terrifying predicament — after years of living as a recluse, no one around him can vouch for who he really is, leaving him fighting to prove his own existence.
