Tom Holland is swinging back, and this time the world doesn’t even remember his name. Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits U.S. theaters on July 31, 2026, arriving off the back of a trailer that broke viewing records within days of dropping — and the hype hasn’t cooled off since.
Here’s everything confirmed so far, from cast to plot to that record-smashing first look.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day
| Detail | Info |
|---|---|
| Release Date | July 31, 2026 |
| Director | Destin Daniel Cretton |
| Lead | Tom Holland as Peter Parker |
| Trailer Views (4 Days) | 1.1 billion+ |
| Photography Wrapped | December 19, 2025 |
| Film Number | Holland’s 4th solo Spider-Man film |
What’s The Story This Time?
The film picks up roughly four years after Spider-Man: No Way Home, where a memory-erasing spell left the entire world forgetting Peter Parker ever existed. Now Peter operates anonymously, protecting New York while investigating a dangerous new threat — all while his own powers start evolving in unpredictable ways.
The title nods to a well-known Spider-Man comics storyline where Peter’s life effectively gets wiped clean and rebuilt. Fans have taken it as a sign that this movie is about resetting Holland’s Spider-Man rather than piling on more multiverse complexity.
Who’s In It
| Actor | Character |
|---|---|
| Tom Holland | Peter Parker / Spider-Man |
| Zendaya | Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson |
| Jacob Batalon | Ned Leeds |
| Jon Bernthal | Frank Castle / The Punisher |
| Mark Ruffalo | Bruce Banner / The Hulk |
| Michael Mando | Mac Gargan / Scorpion |
| Sadie Sink | Undisclosed role |
| Tramell Tillman | Bill Metzger |
Jon Bernthal’s Punisher and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk are drawing the most attention here. Bernthal brings his gritty, street-level version of the character back to the big screen, while Ruffalo’s presence ties the film more directly into the wider Avengers storyline. Michael Mando’s Scorpion also finally pays off a thread left dangling since Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017.
The Trailer That Broke The Internet
Released on March 18, 2026, the first trailer pulled in 718.6 million views in just 24 hours and crossed 1.1 billion views within four days — placing it among the most-watched movie trailers ever released. That kind of reception shows just how much goodwill Holland’s version of the character still carries following No Way Home’s massive success.
This marks Holland’s fourth standalone outing as Spider-Man, following Homecoming (2017), Far From Home (2019), and No Way Home (2021), continuing the same continuity rather than rebooting the character, a franchise history detailed on Wikipedia.
