NVIDIA and SEGA Mark 30 Years With Legendary Games Coming to RTX Spark

Gaming nostalgia just got a serious tech upgrade. NVIDIA and SEGA are celebrating three decades of partnership by bringing VIRTUA FIGHTER CROSSROADS and future SEGA titles to NVIDIA RTX Spark — a new superchip built for slim Windows laptops and compact desktop PCs.

NVIDIA and SEGA: A Partnership That Started With Arcades

This collaboration isn’t new — it dates back 30 years, when NVIDIA worked with SEGA on early graphics technology for arcade systems and consoles. That partnership produced a milestone moment: the NVIDIA NV1 chip powered the very first Virtua Fighter title on PC, one of the world’s earliest 3D fighting games.

Why This Matters for Gamers

The announcement was made at the historic SEGA Akihabara Arcade in Tokyo’s Akihabara district, a hub long associated with gaming culture. NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang joined SEGA CEO Haruki Satomi, COO Shuji Utsumi, Virtua Fighter creator Yu Suzuki, and former SEGA President Shoichiro Irimajiri to mark the milestone. The expanding RTX Spark ecosystem promises gamers a mix of cutting-edge ray tracing and AI-driven visuals while keeping beloved SEGA franchises alive for a new generation of PCs.
