India Finally Gets Its Own Handheld Gaming Console — ARC Opens Waitlist For Debut Device

Mobile gaming has exploded across India, but dedicated handheld consoles have remained frustratingly out of reach — plagued by steep import costs, patchy retail availability, and hardware built for markets overseas. ARC, a new Indian gaming hardware company, wants to fix that, and it just opened the waitlist for its debut device.

Registering early isn’t just a formality either — it comes with real perks, including priority access to updates, launch news, and first-in-line purchasing before the device goes public.

What ARC Is Actually Building

Unlike typical handheld gaming hardware launches, ARC isn’t just shipping a device — it’s building an entire ecosystem around it.

The company says it plans to work closely with early adopters, creators, and developers as the device moves through development, using real feedback to shape the final product before launch.

Why This Matters For Indian Gamers

Co-founder Jobin Joseph called the waitlist launch a signal that Indian gamers are ready for hardware built specifically around their needs, while co-founder Kaustubh K. Jadhav emphasized that the company is building with the community rather than simply for it. That collaborative approach could be the difference-maker in a market that’s long been underserved by global handheld brands.

With Prime Day deals, new launches, and India’s gaming hardware scene heating up simultaneously, ARC’s timing looks deliberate. Gamers can register now at playarc.gg to lock in early access.
