Imtiaz Ali’s pre-partition romantic drama “Main Vaapas Aaunga” is proving to have real staying power at the box office. The film collected Rs 1.75 crore on its 4th Saturday, marking a solid 75% jump from the previous day, taking the fourth weekend’s two-day total to Rs 2.75 crore.

The film’s overall domestic collection now stands at Rs 51.75 crore, and it’s expected to cross the Rs 55 crore mark by the end of its fourth week. There has been a visible dip in momentum this week — likely because the film lost some screens to newcomer “Alpha.” But with Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s spy thriller receiving mixed-to-negative word of mouth, “Main Vaapas Aaunga” is well-positioned to reclaim those lost shows in the days ahead.

Main Vaapas Aaunga: Box Office Collection at a Glance

Period	Collection (Nett)
Week One	Rs 11.50 cr
Week Two	Rs 21.25 cr
Week Three	Rs 16.25 cr
4th Friday	Rs 1.00 cr
4th Saturday	Rs 1.75 cr (est.)

Trade trackers believe the film has the potential to touch around Rs 65 crore nett in its complete theatrical run — though that will heavily depend on how well it holds up over the next two weeks, especially with several big releases lined up to compete for screen space.

For a director known for crafting soulful romances, this steady, word-of-mouth-driven run reflects Imtiaz Ali’s signature strength — stories that grow stronger with time rather than fading after the opening weekend.
