What’s Season 3 All About?

Season 3 picks up immediately after the events of Season 2, with Rhaenyra Targaryen’s Black faction preparing for full-scale war against the Greens following the capture of King’s Landing and Aemond’s growing influence.

The biggest highlight? The long-delayed Battle of the Gullet. Rather than delivering a high-stakes dragon battle to end Season 2, the showrunners reserved the epic Battle of the Gullet to dramatically raise the stakes in Season 3 — and the 72-minute Season 3 premiere plunges viewers right into it from the very first scene. Showrunner Ryan Condal called it unlike anything ever done in television.

New players such as James Norton as Lord Ormund Hightower and other key figures from George R.R. Martin’s source material Fire & Blood enter the conflict, while Daemon, Rhaenyra, Alicent, Aemond, and Aegon II drag the realm deeper into chaos.

A fourth and final season has already been ordered, meaning Season 3 serves as the penultimate chapter of the entire television adaptation. Every episode this season truly counts. Wikipedia

How Many Episodes & What’s the Format?

Like Season 2, the third installment consists of eight episodes, designed for weekly appointment viewing rather than binge-watching. This is prestige TV at its finest — savour every episode. FandomWire
