Drama Breakdown: What You Need to Know

The Setup: Where It All Begins

Meet Cha Ji Yoon. She’s seven years into her office career, and honestly? She’s exhausted. Not in a dramatic way—in the way that slowly creeps up on you. She does her work. She shows up. But somewhere along the way, she lost the spark.

She’s stopped caring about romance, ambition, or anything really. She just wants to clock out and go home. Sound familiar? Welcome to the ennui that half the working population relates to.

Then Seo In Guk’s character—Kang Si Woo, her prickly boss—enters the picture, and everything changes.

The Turning Point: When Workplace Dynamics Shift

Here’s where it gets interesting. As Cha Ji Yoon becomes increasingly entangled with Kang Si Woo both inside and outside the office, something miraculous happens. She begins to rediscover that forgotten thrill of excitement. For the first time in years, she feels alive again.

It’s not just about romance—it’s about professional growth, personal rediscovery, and learning to chase your passion again, even after heartbreak and failure. As modern K-dramas continue to evolve, workplace romance stories are becoming deeper explorations of career fulfillment and self-worth.

Why Park Ji Hyun’s Character Resonates

When asked about her role, Park Ji Hyun explained her attraction to Cha Ji Yoon beautifully: “I found it appealing how, even when she faces different kinds of heartbreak and failure, she chases her passion up until the very end.”

She added, “I hope that viewers not only relate [to the drama], but also find comfort in it as well.”

That’s the magic right there. This isn’t a fantasy—it’s a comfort story. A reminder that burnout doesn’t have to be permanent, and sometimes the person you least expect can reignite your passion.
