“Wrath”: Netflix’s Gritty New Brazilian MMA Series Is Bringing the Heat This Summer

Get ready for fists, secrets, and serious cage drama — Netflix has officially confirmed the release date for “Wrath,” a brand-new Brazilian action-thriller series set in the brutal world of MMA. With its first trailer already out and a premise loaded with mystery, this could be one of the most intense international additions to Netflix this summer.

When Is “Wrath” Releasing?

Mark your calendars: “Wrath” drops globally and exclusively on Netflix on July 29, 2026. The series was created by Igor Verde and Gustavo Bragança, with José Henrique Fonseca directing — and it’s a co-production between Netflix and Zola Films.

What’s the Story?

The series follows a young man rescued from the brink of death by an MMA coach. Given the name Marcelo, he has no memory of who he was before — but as he’s drawn deeper into the fight world, he starts uncovering fragments of his forgotten past. What begins as a story about redemption through combat sports quickly spirals into something much bigger: a tangled web of crime, hidden secrets, and long-standing rivalries that extend far beyond the cage.

It’s the kind of premise that blends raw physical action with a slow-burn mystery — a combination that’s worked well for Netflix’s international hits before.

Who’s in the Cast?

Leading the series is Vinicius Neri (Lupi) as Marcelo, alongside a strong ensemble that includes Alice Carvalho (Love Is a Knife), Bianca Comparato (3%), and Cláudia Raia (Belíssima). Adding even more star power is Eduardo Moscovis, Fábio Lago from Elite Squad, and musician MC Cabelinho stepping into an acting role as Malamute. Babu Santana, known for City of God, also joins the cast, rounding out a lineup packed with familiar faces from Brazilian film and television.

The first-look images already hint at a gritty, fight-club aesthetic — sweat, blood, and high-stakes tension practically radiate off the screen.
