He-Man, J.Lo, Cape Fear & More — Your Ultimate Hollywood Watchlist for June 1–7, 2026

June is kicking off with a seriously stacked week for film lovers. Whether you’re a theatre-goer or an OTT binge-watcher, there’s something for every mood — from an 80s fantasy revival to a pop icon documentary. Here’s everything dropping this week and why each one deserves your attention.

All 6 He-Man Releases This Week

The following Hollywood films and OTT releases are arriving between June 1–7, 2026:

The Films, Briefly Explained

1. Masters of the Universe — The big-screen blockbuster of the week. Nicholas Galitzine steps into the role of He-Man and Prince Adam, who crashes onto Earth as a 10-year-old after getting separated from his magical Power Sword — his only link to his home planet Eternia. Nearly two decades later, Adam rediscovers the sword and returns to Eternia, transforming into the mighty He-Man. Jared Leto plays arch-enemy Skeletor, and the ensemble also includes Idris Elba, Camila Mendes, and Morena Baccarin. Think a nostalgic 80s franchise reborn with modern blockbuster muscle — and this is the biggest theatrical bet of the week. The Masters of the Universe franchise has been a pop culture staple since 1981, making this adaptation one of the most anticipated reboots in years.

2. Scary Movie — The beloved parody franchise is back, directed by Michael Tiddes and reuniting Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Anna Faris, and Regina Hall. Set 26 years after a group of friends outran a suspiciously familiar masked figure, the plot leans into current elevated horror trends while delivering the franchise’s signature slapstick comedy, celebrity parodies, and raunchy humour. If you grew up on the originals, this one’s nostalgia-loaded fun.

3. Power Ballad — The feel-good pick of the week. Paul Rudd plays wedding singer Rick, who crosses paths with fading boy-band star Danny (Nick Jonas). After Danny turns one of Rick’s songs into a massive hit that reignites his pop career, Rick sets out to reclaim the credit he deserves — risking everything in the process. Directed by John Carney, the man behind Once and Sing Street, this musical dramedy has crowd-pleaser written all over it.

4. Office Romance — Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein headline this workplace rom-com directed by Ol Parker. The film centres on a company CEO whose life is turned upside down when she falls for a newly hired employee, as the pair try to hide their intense feelings to protect their careers. Light, breezy, and made for a lazy evening in.

5. Cape Fear — The darkest offering of the week arrives on Apple TV+. The psychological thriller series stars Javier Bardem and Amy Adams as a couple who must deal with a psychopathic antagonist fresh out of prison and seeking revenge. With multiple directors including Reed Morano and Jon S. Baird, expect a visually sharp, tension-filled binge.

6. Michael Jackson: The Verdict — Netflix drops this explosive docuseries on June 3. The documentary, directed by Nick Green, explores the life of the late pop sensation Michael Jackson while also dissecting the allegations and complex arguments surrounding the singer. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or a curious viewer, this one promises to be both emotional and controversial.
