Peddi Runtime Confirmed: Ram Charan’s Sports Drama Is Over 3 Hours Long — Worth Every Minute?

Peddi, the highly anticipated sports action drama starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, has officially cleared its censor formalities. According to the CBFC listing, the film has been granted a UA 16+ certificate and clocks in at a hefty 3 hours and 9 minutes (189 minutes), with minor modifications. The film releases in theatres on June 4, 2026.

That runtime puts it firmly in blockbuster territory — and given what this film is carrying, fans seem more than ready.

Peddi Overview

What Is Peddi About?

At its core, Peddi tells the story of a fiercely talented young man from a village who is a natural legend across multiple sports — cricket, wrestling, and running. But raw talent alone isn’t enough. The film traces his journey of self-discovery as he faces his biggest life challenge yet, with themes of personal rivalry, grit, and budding romance woven throughout.

Director Buchi Babu Sana, who delivered the critically acclaimed Telugu romance Uppena, takes a completely different swing here with high-octane action and a sports backdrop — backed by the musical genius of AR Rahman, who headlined a massive concert event in Bhopal as part of the promotions.

It’s worth noting that in Indian cinema, sports films with emotionally layered narratives have a strong track record of connecting with mass audiences — and Peddi appears designed exactly for that.

What’s New in the Promotions?

The makers recently dropped the latest song Hellallallo, a peppy dance number featuring a cameo from Shruti Haasan — a surprise swap from the earlier-rumoured Mrunal Thakur. Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi himself reviewed the trailer and called it far beyond expectations, which is the kind of family seal of approval that means something in Telugu cinema.

What’s Next for Ram Charan After Peddi?

Post Peddi, Ram Charan is expected to reunite with director Sukumar for the tentatively titled RC17 — their second collaboration after the blockbuster Rangasthalam. That project is reportedly set to launch in July 2026.
