South Park Season 29 Release Date Announced by Paramount+

South Park is officially returning this fall. Comedy Central has confirmed that South Park Season 29 will premiere on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. New episodes will air on Comedy Central in the U.S., with next-day streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S., Canada and Australia, and same- or near-day availability in other territories where Paramount+ holds the rights.

Key Details At A Glance

The season continues the show’s recent pattern of short, tightly scheduled runs rather than the long weekly runs that defined earlier years.

Sources consistently describe Season 29 as a six‑episode fall run under this confirmed schedule.

Episode Release Schedule For Season 29

Comedy Central and South Park Studios have laid out the full fall rollout, with new episodes premiering every other Wednesday after the debut.

Season 29 Air Dates (U.S. Broadcast On Comedy Central)

Each episode will stream on Paramount+ the day after its Comedy Central broadcast in the U.S., Canada and Australia, while international timing can vary by region but follows the same general pattern.

Why The Season 29 Date Matters For Fans

Recent South Park seasons have had unpredictable schedules: specials, long gaps, and split runs made it hard for viewers to know when a new batch of episodes was coming. Season 27 and Season 28 were produced as a single 10‑episode run that then got split across two numbered seasons, further adding to the confusion.

Locking in a clear fall 2026 window with specific air dates does three things:

1. Restores a familiar rhythm – While still shorter than classic 14‑episode seasons, a six‑episode fall run with exact dates gives fans something akin to a mini‑season.
2. Signals stability after behind‑the‑scenes turbulence – South Park’s new five‑year, high‑value deal with Paramount+ and Comedy Central guarantees ongoing seasons and specials; a precise Season 29 schedule reassures viewers that the machine is now running more predictably.
3. Lets satire hit specific moments – By staking out the fall, Parker and Stone can aim episodes at U.S. election‑season politics, cultural flashpoints, and holiday themes with more intention.

Trey Parker And Matt Stone’s Role In Season 29

Trey Parker and Matt Stone remain the driving creative force behind South Park:

• They continue as co-creators, executive producers, writers and primary voice actors.
• In recent press, they have spoken about creative exhaustion from wall‑to‑wall political satire and hinted at wanting a balance between topical politics and broader absurdist or character‑driven stories in Season 29.

Parker & Stone Overview

Their continued hands‑on work is central to why South Park has maintained a consistent tone and edge for nearly three decades, despite changes in distribution (Comedy Central, Paramount+) and format (TV seasons plus exclusive streaming movies).

Ratings And Franchise Context

South Park’s recent form explains why Comedy Central is giving Season 29 a high‑profile fall berth:

• Season 27 was the most‑watched South Park season in six years, and it became the No. 1 show on cable in 2025 in the 18–49 demographic, a key target for advertisers.
• The series is locked into a multi‑year, nine‑figure deal that includes new seasons and a slate of specials/films for Paramount+, ensuring South Park remains a pillar franchise well into the late 2020s.

With that momentum, Season 29’s fixed September 16 launch and bi‑weekly rollout look like an attempt to combine event‑style scarcity (fewer episodes, spaced out) with enough predictability to keep fans engaged all fall.
