Bengaluru, Your Morning Run Just Got a Whole Lot More Fun — Pokémon GO Is Coming for You

Imagine hatching a Pokémon Egg with every kilometre you run, snapping AR selfies with Pikachu at Bengaluru’s iconic landmarks, and walking away with official Pokémon merchandise. That’s not a dream — that’s this Saturday. Pokémon GO and Stride Run Club are turning Bengaluru into a real-world Pokémon playground on 23 May 2026, and every runner and Trainer in the city should know about it.

Pokémon GO Event Overview

Run, Hatch, Explore — Here’s How It Works

This isn’t just a branded fun run. Pokémon GO has woven a live gameplay experience directly into the run itself. Every step you take with Stride Run Club counts toward hatching in-game Pokémon Eggs in real time — so the more you move, the more you progress in the game. Fitness and gameplay become the same thing.

Once the run wraps, the fun doesn’t stop. Participants can fire up GO Snapshot to take augmented reality photos with their favourite Pokémon set against Bengaluru’s most recognisable spots — essentially turning the entire city into a photo studio. Select runners also get a shot at winning official Pokémon merchandise, which adds a delightful competitive twist to the morning.

Pokémon GO has always been built around this philosophy — blending real-world movement with digital play — and this event is one of its purest expressions yet.

Why This Collab Actually Makes Sense?

Stride Run Club isn’t just a convenient partner — it’s a genuinely aligned one. As one of Bengaluru’s most energetic and community-driven running groups, Stride is built on the same values that Pokémon GO operates on: get outside, keep moving, and do it with people who make it better.

Sidharth Yadav, Founder of Stride Run Club, put it simply — running is best enjoyed in good company, and Pokémon GO adds a whole new interactive dimension to that experience.

From Niantic’s side, Hui Elaine, Senior Director of APAC Regional Marketing, described the event as part of a deliberate strategy to create social discovery experiences that embed Pokémon GO into the rhythm of everyday life — not just screen time.

Part of Something Bigger in India

This Bengaluru run is the latest chapter in Pokémon GO’s growing community-first playbook in India. The brand has already brought the City Safari to Mumbai and run campus activations at colleges across the country. Each event builds on the last, steadily growing a Trainer community that is as active outdoors as it is in the game.

India is clearly a strategic priority for Niantic, and city-level activations like this are how they’re making Pokémon GO feel locally rooted rather than globally generic.
