Bhooth Bangla Box Office: Akshay Kumar’s Horror Comedy Refuses to Die, Eyes Rs 165 Crore Finish

Akshay Kumar is back in business — and the numbers are proving it. Bhooth Bangla, the horror comedy directed by the legendary Priyadarshan, is quietly cementing itself as one of the most consistent releases of 2026. Even in its fourth week, the film simply won’t quit.

What’s happening at the box office right now?

On its 4th Monday, Bhooth Bangla collected an estimated Rs 1.25 crore, registering just a 15% drop from the previous Friday — a remarkably healthy hold for any Bollywood film deep into its run. The film’s 4th week has already accumulated Rs 9.25 crore in four days alone.

Where does it go from here?

The film is projected to wrap up this week with Rs 12–14 crore, pushing its cumulative nett toward the Rs 155 crore mark, with an eye on the Rs 165 crore finish line overall. Beating Housefull 5‘s Rs 168 crore benchmark seems a stretch, but the film’s “Clean Hit” tag is already sealed.

One speed bump ahead: Pati Patni Aur Woh Do arrives in cinemas soon, which is expected to eat into Bhooth Bangla’s footfalls from the 5th weekend.

Why this matters for Akshay Kumar — and Bollywood

Honestly, this one feels personal for Akshay fans. After a tough post-pandemic patch with a string of underperformers, Akshay had a somewhat improved 2025, but Bhooth Bangla marks his first proper HIT in a while.

The broader Bollywood ecosystem tends to thrive when Akshay is thriving — his consistent output of two to three films a year keeps the box office ticking in a way few others manage, with Ajay Devgn being the notable exception.

The success of Bhooth Bangla also validates the horror-comedy genre as a reliable crowd-puller in India, joining the league of films like Stree and Bhool Bhulaiyaa that have proven audiences love their scares served with laughs.
