Ram Charan’s Peddi Will Make You Cry — And That’s Exactly the Point

Production designer Avinash Kolla, who worked closely on the film, didn’t hold back his excitement. In a tweet shared by Vamsi Shekar, Kolla said that when audiences walk out of the theatre, their eyes will be filled with tears — because they’ll be so deeply connected to Peddi’s journey that they’ll travel along with it emotionally. Those are strong words — and they’re backed by even stronger credentials.

Veteran director Sukumar has reportedly claimed that Ram Charan’s performance in Peddi will surpass even his iconic role in Rangasthalam, citing the powerful and strong story as the key reason. If that doesn’t raise your excitement levels, nothing will.

Peddi — Everything You Need to Know

Peddi is set against a rural backdrop and revolves around a cricket tournament — a sport that cricket fans know runs on raw emotion. The casting is stellar: alongside Ram Charan, the ensemble includes Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma, Jagapathi Babu, and Boman Irani.

The film has had a slightly rocky road to screens — originally announced for March 27, 2026, it was pushed to April 30 before finally locking June 4, 2026 as the release date. But the wait seems worth it. The team confirmed the final edit has been locked, and a song sequence featuring Shruti Haasan in a cameo is being shot as part of the last schedule.

What’s Next for Ram Charan After Peddi?

After Peddi, Ram Charan is expected to collaborate with director Sukumar for the tentatively titled RC17, with the project potentially launching in mid-2026. The combination of Charan and Sukumar already gave us Rangasthalam — so expectations are sky high.
