Redmi has launched a gaming-oriented smartphone in China which is basically a new incarnation of a previously launched Redmi K40 smartphone, named Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition. So, without wasting much time, let’s get into the specifications and pricing of the device.
The gaming edition of Redmi K40 runs MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 OS and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC chipset. Regarding display, this phone offers a 6.67″ FHD+ Super AMOLED OLED panel supported by a faster refresh rate of 120Hz (front and rear sides are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5). This phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC of this phone is paired with 6GB/8GB/12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Coming to the camera section, this phone offers a triple rear camera setup that includes a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP sensor as well. For selfies, this phone has a 20MP selfie snapper at the front.
This gaming phone from Redmi is fueled up by a 5,065mAH battery supported by 67W of fast charging. This phone is IP53 certified and in terms of connectivity, this device has everything including IR Blaster, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, 5G, and more. The sound experience of this phone is at the top level as Redmi has partnered with JBL for it.

Apart from the regular game enhanced edition of the Redmi K40, Redmi has launched a Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition Bruce Lee Special Edition which is mainly based on the legendry martial artist Bruce Lee. The design of this edition is different from the regular one, with a yellow + black dual-color finish.
On the rear side of the phone, we can see a black stripe in the middle with the line “Bruce Lee King of Kung Fu”. This edition also arrives with some cool accessories: a yellow bumper case, a yellow power brick, and a yellow charging cable.
Coming to the pricing, the Bruce Lee edition of the Redmi K40 gaming phone carries a price tag of ¥2799 (~$432) for its sole 12GB/ 256GB option and it will be available for sale on April 30.
