Your Netflix Ad Plan Just Got a Massive Upgrade — 14 DreamWorks Shows Are Now Free to Stream!

If you’ve been on Netflix’s Standard with Ads plan and wondering why all those DreamWorks shows were locked behind a paywall, your wait is officially over. As of May 2026, nearly the entire DreamWorks Animation Television library is now fully streamable on Netflix’s ad tier — and it’s a bigger deal than it sounds.

Why Were They Locked in the First Place?

Here’s the thing — these shows all carry the Netflix Original badge, so it felt strange that ad-tier subscribers couldn’t access them. The answer? Legacy licensing contracts. When Netflix signed its original deal with DreamWorks (now under NBCUniversal), ad-supported streaming simply didn’t exist yet. So Netflix had to go back to the table and get formal sign-off to run ads against this content. That ink has now dried, and the shows are yours to watch — with a few ad breaks, of course.

The total number of titles blocked on the ad tier has now dropped below 50, down from over 300 when the ad tier first launched in late 2022. That’s a massive win for budget-conscious subscribers.

Shows Worth Watching Right Now

🐍 Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts (3 Seasons) — A stunning post-apocalyptic animated adventure about a girl navigating a wild world of mutant animals. Genuinely one of Netflix’s most underrated animated series — heartfelt, diverse, and wildly creative.

🐼 Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight (3 Seasons) — Jack Black reprises his iconic role as Po, this time on a globe-trotting adventure with a British knight. Packed with humour, action, and heart — great for the whole family.

🚗 Fast & Furious Spy Racers (6 Seasons) — A younger cousin to the blockbuster film franchise, this animated series follows Dominic Toretto’s teenage nephew on secret high-speed missions. Six full seasons of adrenaline-fuelled fun for kids who love cars and action.

👶 The Boss Baby: Back in the Crib (2 Seasons) — The fan-favourite Baby Boss is back, now navigating corporate life and family chaos simultaneously. Hilarious and surprisingly clever — parents will enjoy it just as much as the kids.

🦹 The Bad Guys: The Series (2026, 1 Season) — Fresh off the hit animated film, this brand-new 2026 series continues the story of a gang of criminal animals trying (sort of) to go straight. Slick, stylish, and very funny.

🤖 3Below: Tales of Arcadia (2 Seasons) — Part of Guillermo del Toro’s brilliant Tales of Arcadia universe, this follows two royal alien teenagers hiding on Earth. If you love Trollhunters, this is essential viewing.

One Catch: Watch Them Before They’re Gone

Here’s the honest truth — these shows may not stick around forever. Netflix doesn’t own these titles; it licensed them. As those licensing windows expire (often around the 5-year mark), the shows revert to NBCUniversal. Several older DreamWorks titles have already left the platform. So if Kipo or Spy Racers have been on your watchlist, don’t wait.

Also — Wizards: Tales of Arcadia, the third installment in del Toro’s Arcadia universe, remains mysteriously locked on the ad tier. Whether it’s a technical glitch or a rights issue is unclear, but it’s the one notable holdout in an otherwise clean sweep.
