There are moments in K-pop that transcend fandom — and this is one of them. Heo Hyunjun, better known as Hwall, the former member of THE BOYZ who quietly departed in 2019 citing health issues, walked back into the group’s world last week — not on stage, but as a fan in the crowd. And honestly? It hit different.

The Concert That Made It All Possible

This wasn’t just any THE BOYZ show. THE BOYZ successfully conducted THE BOYZ CONCERT INTERZECTION on April 24, 2026 — an allegedly self-funded round of shows amid their contractual controversy with ONE HUNDRED. After acquiring a partial injunction suspending their exclusive contracts, the group performed to a sold-out venue supported by thousands of THE Bs — their fanbase. The fact that they pulled it off independently made the entire event all the more powerful.

And into that sold-out crowd walked Hwall — seven years after he last stood beside these boys as a member.

What Hwall Said — And Why It Moved Everyone

Taking to Instagram after attending the concert, Hyunjun shared a series of backstage photos with THE BOYZ members, expressing his continued friendship and admiration for the group. His caption — warm, personal, and a little playful — said everything fans needed to hear.

He reflected on watching his former teammates perform from the audience, saying he felt inspired and learned a great deal from seeing them shine on stage, adding that it motivated him to work even harder. He also sweetly called out member Kim Sunwoo for disappearing before they could take a photo together — a moment of pure, unfiltered friendship that fans couldn’t get enough of.

He had previously met with Sunwoo and Eric of the group during a casual meal outing, surprising fans with their continued bond. fotmob

Who Is Hwall and Why Did He Leave?

Hyunjun departed THE BOYZ back in October 2019, citing health issues, and went on to begin an acting career. His exit was sudden and caught fans off guard, but he always remained gracious and supportive of his former group from a distance. Seeing him return — even as a spectator — seven years later feels like a full-circle moment that the entire K-pop community needed.

Why This Moment Matters for K-pop Fans?

In an industry that can feel ruthlessly transactional, moments of genuine human connection stand out. Hwall didn’t have to be there. He didn’t owe anyone a public gesture of support. But he chose to show up, sit in the crowd with thousands of fans, watch his former group pour their hearts out on stage, and then post about it with love, humour and warmth. That’s rare. That matters.
