Hiroshi Kitadani Is Coming to Mumbai — The Voice of “We Are!” Performs Live in India for the Very First Time!

Goosebumps. That’s the only word for it. Crunchyroll has just announced that Hiroshi Kitadani — the legendary Japanese singer behind ONE PIECE’s iconic opening anthem “We Are!” — will perform live in Mumbai on May 9, 2026 at Mumbai Comic Con. This is his first-ever visit to India, and for millions of anime fans across the country, it’s a dream they didn’t dare dream out loud.

A Voice That Defined a Generation

For anyone who has watched ONE PIECE, “We Are!” isn’t just a song — it’s the sound of adventure, friendship, and the boundless pursuit of dreams. Kitadani has been the voice behind that feeling for decades, and his solo music career carries that same electric energy throughout.

Beyond ONE PIECE, Kitadani is a cornerstone member of JAM Project, the legendary anime music supergroup that has contributed high-octane theme songs to some of the most iconic anime titles in history. Whether you know him from ONE PIECE or JAM Project’s explosive catalogue, hearing him perform live is an experience in a different league entirely.

Kitadani himself captured the spirit of the moment perfectly, calling anime music “the ultimate power that connects hearts all around the world” — and expressing pure excitement about his debut India performance.

Bringing Kitadani to Mumbai isn’t just a concert announcement; it’s a statement that India’s anime community is large, passionate, and deserving of world-class experiences.

For context, ONE PIECE is one of the highest-selling manga franchises in recorded history, with a fanbase spanning virtually every country on earth. Having its most iconic musical voice touch down in India for the first time is genuinely historic.
