BTS is back and they haven’t skipped a single beat. Their highly anticipated fifth studio album ARIRANG has just debuted at the top of the Billboard 200, making history in ways that are genuinely difficult to wrap your head around.

BTS ARIRANG Billboard 200 — By the Numbers

The album debuted on the Billboard 200 with 641K equivalent album units, out of which 532K are pure sales (physical and digital albums), marking BTS’s seventh No.1 on the chart.

Metric	Record
Billboard 200 Debut Position	#1
Total Equivalent Album Units	641K
Pure Physical & Digital Sales	532K
BTS Billboard 200 No.1s	7th
Global Spotify Day-1 Streams	110 Million
Charting Songs on Release	14
Days SWIM Led Global Spotify	9+ Days

A Record That Broke Their Own Record

This is the part that hits differently. ARIRANG has broken BTS’s own record for the biggest K-Pop album debut in US history, overtaking their 2020 release MAP OF THE SOUL: 7. It also marks the biggest sales week for an album by a group in more than a decade.

Think about that for a second — a group that had already set the bar impossibly high simply vaulted over it themselves.

The title track SWIM has remained atop the Global Spotify chart for 9 days, earning close to 10 million streams each day. ARIRANG is also the biggest album debut of 2026 globally so far.

All 7 BTS Billboard 200 No.1 Albums

The six previous BTS albums to reach No.1 on the Billboard 200, from newest to oldest, are: Proof (2022), BE (2020), MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 (2020), MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA (2019), Love Yourself: Answer (2018), and Love Yourself: Tear (2018).

ARIRANG now sits proudly as the seventh crown in that collection.

The Billboard 200 is widely considered the most prestigious album chart in the world, making this achievement all the more remarkable for a South Korean act singing primarily in Korean.
