After 27 years of weekly episodes, one of anime’s greatest adventures is about to change the way it’s delivered — and for One Piece fans, this is genuinely historic. The Elbaf Island Arc marks the first time the anime goes fully seasonal, and Netflix is set to bring it to global audiences starting April 11, 2026.

The Biggest Format Change in One Piece History

Since 1999, TOEI Animation has released One Piece episodes every single week — nearly without interruption. That era is now over. Beginning with the Elbaf Island Arc, the anime transitions to a seasonal format, capping each part at 26 episodes across two cours, rather than the traditional 40+ episodes per year. It’s a bold creative shift designed to tighten pacing and reduce filler — something long-time fans have been asking for.

Netflix is expected to follow its standard six-day delay from Japanese broadcasts, which means Episode 1 lands on April 11, 2026, with new episodes following each Saturday throughout the arc.

Here’s the full Part 1 episode schedule:

Episode	Japanese Broadcast	Expected Netflix
Ep. 1	April 5	April 11
Ep. 2	April 12	April 18
Ep. 3	April 19	April 25
Ep. 4	April 26	May 2
Ep. 5	May 3	May 9
Ep. 6	May 10	May 16
Ep. 7	May 17	May 23
Ep. 8	May 24	May 30
Ep. 9	May 31	June 6
Ep. 10	June 7	June 13
Ep. 11	June 14	June 20
Ep. 12	June 21	June 27
Ep. 13	June 28	July 4

This schedule is confirmed via Netflix Spain’s listings, which locked in April 11 as the global rollout date. Part 2 dates will be revealed after Part 1 concludes.

One Piece is one of the best-selling manga series of all time with over 530 million copies in circulation globally, making Elbaf — one of the most fan-anticipated arcs in the entire story — a massive moment for the franchise.
