What Is Beef Season 2 About?
Beef returns with a new cast and a new conflict — a Gen-Z couple witnesses an alarming fight between their Millennial boss and his wife. Newly-engaged Ashley Miller (Cailee Spaeny) and Austin Davis (Charles Melton), both lower-level staff at a country club, become entangled in the unravelling marriage of their General Manager Joshua Martín (Oscar Isaac) and his wife Lindsay Crane-Martín (Carey Mulligan). Through favours and coercion, both couples vie for the approval of the elitist club’s billionaire owner, Chairwoman Park (Youn Yuh-jung), who struggles to manage her own scandal involving her second husband, Dr. Kim (Song Kang-ho). IMDb
It’s the classic Beef formula — a seemingly small collision between two sets of people spiralling into something catastrophic — but now filtered through class anxiety, workplace power dynamics, and a country club setting that drips with privilege and tension. 💣
The Cast That Makes This Unmissable
This is genuinely one of the most prestigious TV casts assembled in years. Oscar Isaac has starred in major franchises including Star Wars, Dune, and X-Men. Carey Mulligan was recently nominated for an Academy Award for Maestro. Cailee Spaeny has had a busy period thanks to Alien: Romulus, Civil War, and Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla. And Youn Yuh-jung — who won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Minari — rounds out the lead quartet. IMDb
Creator Lee Sung Jin has described this season as a completely new story — and Carey Mulligan confirmed during Sundance that it is every bit as sharp as the first season, adding only that speaking further about the plot would summon “a laser beam on her head.”
