Chelsea have been very shrewd with their transfer business in recent years, signing the likes of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Malang Sarr and Thiago Silva in deals that were heavily under their perceived demand and market value. The Blues are reportedly planning another transfer masterclass as they attempt to bring club legend Eden Hazard back to Chelsea.
The Belgian has been struggling since joining his ‘dream club’ and has spent more games out injured than being available for selection, completely match fit. The numbers are not in his favour either, with him being injured 11 times and having made only 25 La Liga appearances for Los Blancos in two years with them.
His fortunes at Chelsea were something else altogether, with the winger barely missing matches throughout a season due to injury.
Real Madrid are hence, keen on getting rid of the player with even Zinedine Zidane at a loss for words in terms of an explanation for Hazard’s injury woes. According to Mundo Deportivo, they are willing to accept a bid worth £43 million for Hazard, whose market value has dropped by about £100 million since making the highly anticipated move to the Bernabeu.Â
Los Blancos are keen to usher their team into a new era, and are looking at Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe as future targets. They will have to do away with the Belgian to make room for the two youngsters on the wage books, and it looks even more likely now that his time at Madrid will come to an end this summer.
