Mark the calendar. Xiaomi has officially confirmed the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra will debut globally on February 28, 2026, at a dedicated event in Barcelona — just ahead of MWC 2026. The India launch is confirmed for the same day, with the livestream starting at 6:30 PM IST under the theme “The New Wave of Imagery.” Only the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra head to global markets; the Pro and Pro Max remain China-exclusive.

Xiaomi 17 vs 17 Ultra: Specs, Price & Key Differences

This is Xiaomi’s fourth year of the Leica partnership — and both companies have confirmed it’s now moved from co-engineering to full “strategic co-creation,” targeting what they call Essential Leica Imagery.

The Camera Story Is the Whole Story

The Ultra’s 200MP periscope telephoto with Leica APO certification is the headline spec — APO optics are designed to drastically reduce chromatic aberration and colour fringing, a problem that plagues most smartphone telephoto systems. Combined with the 1-inch Light Hunter main sensor with LOFIC technology (which enhances dynamic range and low-light accuracy), this is Xiaomi’s most serious camera flagship yet.

Xiaomi is also bundling a 24-month quality assurance plan plus one free screen replacement within the first six months for buyers in select regions — a strong value addition at this price tier.

India pricing will be confirmed at the February 28 event. Follow the official Xiaomi global launch page for live updates.
