👑 What Is The East Palace About?

Set inside the shadowy depths of a royal palace haunted by the supernatural, The East Palace follows Gu-cheon — a ghost slayer with the ability to traverse between the world of the living and the dead — and Saeng-gang, a court lady concealing a dangerous secret. Together, they answer a royal summons to rid the palace of its cursed ghosts and unearth the dark mysteries buried within its walls.

It’s part Korean historical drama, part supernatural thriller — a genre combination that Korean cinema executes like no one else on earth.

🎭 Lead Cast: A True Netflix Dream Team

Cho Seung Woo plays the King — a role perfectly suited to his gravitas. Best known to Netflix audiences through Stranger, Divorce Attorney Shin, Sisyphus: The Myth, and Life, he brings an almost magnetic intensity to every role he touches. His casting here instantly elevates the drama into must-watch territory.

Nam Joo Hyuk (Gu-cheon) brings emotional range proven across Twenty-Five Twenty-One, Start-Up, and The School Nurse Files. Roh Yoon Seo (Saeng-gang), who made a breakout impression in Crash Course in Romance and Our Blues, steps into her second lead K-drama role here with visible ambition.

Behind the camera, director Choi Jung Gyu (The Devil Judge) and writers Kwon So Ra & Seo Jae Won (Bulgasal: Immortal Souls) form one of the most genre-credible creative teams Netflix Korea has assembled.
