FAQs About Most Viewed Netflix Series
Q: What is the #1 most viewed Netflix series of all time?
Squid Game Season 1 holds the crown with 265.2 million views and 2.2 billion hours watched in its first 91 days. The Korean dystopian thriller’s unprecedented global success made it Netflix’s biggest series launch ever, surpassing Wednesday Season 1 which achieved 252.1 million views.
Q: How does Netflix count views for their most popular shows?
Netflix uses two metrics: completed viewing equivalents (CVE) and total hours watched over a 91-day period. CVE divides total viewing hours by the show’s runtime to calculate “views.” For example, if a show is 10 hours long and accumulates 100 million hours watched, that equals 10 million views. This provides a more accurate picture than older metrics that only counted if someone watched 2 minutes.
