ASUS CES 2026: ROG XREAL R1 240Hz AR Glasses & RGB OLED

ASUS and ROG unveiled a comprehensive display ecosystem at CES 2026—headlined by the world’s first 240Hz AR gaming glasses with 171-inch virtual screen, RGB Stripe Pixel OLED monitors eliminating color fringing, and dual-mode displays boosting frame rates 4x for competitive gaming.

ROG XREAL R1: Spatial Gaming Revolution

The ROG XREAL R1 gaming glasses represent a partnership with XREAL, combining AR technology leadership with ROG ecosystem integration. At just 91 grams, they deliver a massive 171-inch virtual screen viewed from four meters with 57° field of view covering 95% of focused viewing area.

The breakthrough? Native 240Hz refresh rate with 3ms motion-to-photon latency—critical for competitive gaming where milliseconds determine victory. All rendering and tracking happen within the glasses, enabling native 3DoF Anchor mode that pins screen alignment without PC input. Electrochromic lens technology automatically adjusts transparency for different lighting conditions, while Sound by Bose delivers precisely-tuned spatial audio for three-dimensional soundstage awareness.

ASUS CES 2026 Display Innovation Overview

RGB Stripe Pixel OLED: Text Clarity Finally Solved

ASUS maintains No.1 global OLED monitor position through continued innovation. RGB Stripe Pixel technology eliminates the color fringing plaguing traditional OLED text rendering—delivering crystal-clear text alongside gaming performance.

The flagship Swift OLED PG34WCDN combines 34-inch 1800R curvature with 3440×1440 resolution at 360Hz/0.03ms. BlackShield™ film provides 2.5x scratch resistance while boosting perceived black levels 40%—users can clean displays confidently without surface damage concerns.

The Swift OLED PG27UCWM leverages Tandem RGB OLED, removing white subpixels entirely for 27% larger color volume at high luminance. Dual Mode versatility toggles between 4K@240Hz for visual fidelity or FHD@480Hz for esports supremacy.

Dual-Mode Gaming: Frame Rate Multiplication

The Strix XG27UCG Gen 2 and TUF Gaming VG27UQEL5A introduce unprecedented flexibility through Dual Mode functionality. The Strix delivers 3x frame rate boost, switching from overclocked UHD@162Hz to blistering FHD@485Hz. The TUF Gaming achieves 4x multiplication—overclocked 4K@80Hz or ultrasmooth FHD@310Hz.

ASUS Smart Pixel technology maintains sharp, vibrant visuals even at lower resolutions, addressing the traditional compromise where competitive players sacrificed image quality for frame rates.

ProArt OLED: Professional Color Precision

Creative professionals gain three new ProArt OLED models. The 26.5-inch PA279CDV delivers 99% DCI-P3 coverage, 1000-nit peak brightness, and Delta E<2 accuracy at 120Hz—ideal for HDR content creation on a single display.

Mac integration shines through DisplayWidget Center support, enabling MacBook brightness key control and M Model P3 color alignment for consistent accuracy across devices. USB-C 96W Power Delivery, HDMI 2.1, and DisplayPort 1.4 DSC with daisy-chain support ensure comprehensive connectivity.

The 31.5-inch PA32UCDMR-K and 26.5-inch PA27UCDMR push boundaries further with Delta E<1 accuracy, 240Hz refresh rates, and dual Thunderbolt 4 ports. The PA32UCDMR-K includes a monitor hood and ProArt CaliCotrO MCA02 colorimeter—winner of the 2026 CES Innovation Award—plus the intuitive ASUS Dial for creative software shortcuts.

ZenScreen Series: Mobile Productivity Redefined

ASUS pioneered the USB-C portable monitor category, now expanding with three models featuring 16:10 aspect ratios for productivity-focused workflows:

ZenScreen OLED MQ16FC targets MacBook users with 16-inch OLED, 95% DCI-P3 coverage, and Delta E<2 accuracy for precise on-the-go color grading.

ZenScreen MB16NCG balances versatility with 2560×1600 IPS, 155Hz refresh, HDR10, and 100% sRGB—ideal for mobile professionals and casual gamers.

ZenScreen Duo MB14FCD unfolds dual 14-inch IPS screens via 360° hinge, creating 20-inch-class workspace with Mirror, Extend, Split, and Independent modes. Dual USB-C ports plus mini HDMI offer robust connectivity with Power Passthrough enabling 65W charging.
