Microsoft’s Surface Laptop 4 appears on Geekbench with Intel Tiger Lake

Earlier, Microsofts upcoming 2021 Surface laptop made its appearance on Geekbench. The device was powered by AMD’s Ryzen processor, and we were convinced that the upcoming Surface Laptop 4 would be launched in the market with either the Ryzen 4000 or the Ryzen 5000.

But our assumptions might have only been partially correct. As latest sources have confirmed that yet another surface laptop has made its appearance on Geekbench, and this time the machine comes powered by an Intel Core i5-1135G7.

And as we already know, Microsoft had been suspected of trying to ditch intel, but it seems that we will still see a long collaboration between Intel and Microsoft. Going back to the performance of the newly appeared Surface Laptop 4, the single-core performance was something to talk about, while the multi-core performance was lacking.

The Surface Laptop 4 displayed the 4-core and 8-threaded Intel Core i5-1135G7, which operated from 2.42 GHz to 4.2 GHz and was also supported by 8 GB RAM. According to Geekbench’s leaked data, the multi-core score was 5,214 points, and the single-core benchmark score was a healthy 1,384 points.

Microsoft currently offers the Surface Laptop 3 with either an i5-1035G7 processor or i7-1065G7. But its upcoming Surface Laptop 4 will be moving on to Intel’s 11th Gen series, so we can expect an even more powerful processor from intel to accompany the model’s official variants. If Microsoft also goes with Ryzen 4000/5000 options for the Surface Laptop 4, shoppers will get the best of both worlds in terms of processor choice.

Still, I would have preferred if Microsoft also went with a Snapdragon processor. What you think, let us know in the comments.
