The Vivo S50 series smartphones have been quietly confirmed to launch in December in China through a pre-reservation microsite. The lineup, expected to succeed the Vivo S30 series launched in May, will likely include the base Vivo S50 and a compact Vivo S50 Pro Mini, both featuring significant upgrades including periscope telephoto cameras and the latest processors.

Pre-Reservations Now Live in China
Instead of a major announcement, Vivo published a pre-reservation page revealing the December timeline. Customers can already register their interest and participate in a lucky draw to win prizes including a Vivo S50 unit, 500 yuan travel vouchers, surprise gifts, and Vivo points.
The exact launch date hasn’t been announced yet, though it’s expected within the coming weeks. This launch follows Vivo’s strategy of introducing the X300 series in India on December 2, alongside the Zeiss Telephoto Extender Kit.

Certification Hints at Imminent Launch
Two Vivo smartphones with model numbers V2527A and V2528A, believed to be the S50 and S50 Pro Mini, recently appeared on China’s SRRC certification website. Both devices are expected to ship with Android 16-based OriginOS 6, making them among the first smartphones to run the latest Android version.
Flagship Features in Compact Package
The Vivo S50 Pro Mini stands out with its compact 6.31-inch display while packing flagship-grade hardware including the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. The massive 6,040mAh+ battery capacity is particularly impressive for such a small form factor, addressing battery anxiety without compromising portability.
Both models will feature periscope telephoto cameras, a premium feature typically reserved for flagship devices, bringing advanced zoom capabilities to the mid-range and compact segments.
What This Means for Indian Market
While the S50 series is launching in China, Vivo hasn’t confirmed plans for an Indian release. However, the company often brings its S-series devices to India under different branding, so fans may eventually see rebranded versions in the Indian smartphone market.
With the X300 series India launch scheduled for December 2 and the S50 series arriving in China shortly after, Vivo is maintaining an aggressive product launch cadence to close out 2025 with compelling offerings across multiple segments.
