Phil Neville is expected to take up the reigns at former Manchester United teammate, David Beckham’s club, Inter Miami in the MLS. The American club recently parted ways with manager Diego Alonso after he finished 10th in the Eastern conference in the club’s inaugural season.

The two have been in contact and have had a well rounded conversation regarding the job. Neville is expected to be announced as the next manager of the Florida-based club in the next week or so.

Phil Neville currently manages the England women’s national team, and will leave the post when he turns to the Land of Opportunity for his next project, and return to the territory of club football. The former Manchester United player has been in charge of the Three Lionesses since 2018.

A caretaker manager is expected to be appointed by the FA for the next 9 months, before current Netherlands women’s head coach Sarina Wiegman takes charge of the dugout in September.

The main reason behind the delay in Wiegman’s departure from Holland is the rescheduling of the Olympic Games to be held this summer, a competition in which the Netherlands are competing in.

For the England Women’s national team, this means that they will have to head into the Olympics with a caretaker manager in charge, and the odds are stacked against them now.

According to Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Neville and Beckham are in the final stages of their negotiations, and a complete agreement is expected to be reached soon.
