Chinese smartphone giant prepares major photography leap with 1/1.4-inch sensor and advanced in-sensor zoom capabilities for Vivo X300’s September launch

Vivo is preparing to revolutionize mobile photography with the upcoming Vivo X300 flagship, featuring a massive 200MP main camera that represents a significant upgrade over its predecessor. According to reliable leaks from Digital Chat Station, the Vivo X300 will pack a Samsung ISOCELL sensor with advanced zoom capabilities and a larger sensor size.

Vivo X300 Camera Specifications Breakdown

Camera Component	Specifications	Upgrade Benefits
Main Camera	200MP Samsung ISOCELL (1/1.4-inch)	4x megapixel increase vs X200
Sensor Size	1/1.4-inch optical format	Better light gathering capability
Ultra-Wide	50MP lens	Wide-angle photography
Telephoto	50MP Sony IMX882, 3x optical zoom	Enhanced zoom performance
In-Sensor Zoom	35mm & 50mm crop modes	High-quality digital zoom

Samsung Partnership Brings Advanced Imaging

The X300’s 200MP sensor reportedly uses Samsung’s ISOCELL technology, possibly the HP9 derivative or HPB branding. This represents a major step up from the X200’s 50MP main camera with its smaller 1/1.56-inch sensor, promising significantly improved light gathering and image quality, especially in challenging conditions.

The larger 1/1.4-inch sensor size translates to better low-light performance and enhanced dynamic range, making the X300 a serious competitor in the flagship photography segment.

In-Sensor Zoom Innovation

One of the most exciting features is the X300’s in-sensor zoom capability, offering high-quality 35mm and 50mm crop modes without relying on traditional digital zoom. This technology uses the high pixel count effectively, providing versatile focal lengths within a single sensor.

The 50MP telephoto camera retains the proven Sony IMX882 sensor with 3x optical zoom and will support telephoto macro photography, expanding creative possibilities for mobile photographers.

Compact Design Meets Flagship Power

Despite the camera upgrades, the X300 is expected to feature a more compact 6.31-inch display compared to the X200’s 6.67-inch screen. This makes it one of Vivo’s smallest flagship offerings in recent years while maintaining premium features like wireless charging, full waterproofing, and ultrasonic fingerprint scanning.

The device will be powered by MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9500 chipset, promising improved performance and enhanced image signal processing capabilities.

ZEISS Partnership Continues

Vivo’s collaboration with ZEISS will continue, bringing T* lens coating technology to reduce glare and improve image clarity. This partnership has been instrumental in establishing Vivo’s reputation for exceptional mobile photography.

With a September-October 2025 launch window expected, the X300 positions Vivo to compete directly with Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and other flagship camera phones.
