Historic Police Participation
For the first time, Himachal Pradesh Police men and women Kho Kho teams will compete for the title, marking a significant expansion in departmental sports participation. Teams from all 12 districts—Mandi, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Una, Sirmaur, Shimla, Kullu, Kangra, Solan, Chamba, Kinnaur, and Lahaul and Spiti—are registered for the championship.
Shri Sudhanshu Mittal, President of Kho Kho Federation of India, highlighted the sport’s grassroots strength. He noted increasing participation from government departments and growing career interest among young athletes due to expanding job opportunities and recognition in the sport.

Gateway to National Championship
The state championship serves as a qualification platform for the 58th Senior National Kho Kho Championship scheduled January 11-15, 2026, in Kazipet, Telangana. Athletes will showcase their skills while competing for spots at the national level.
