AMD Ryzen 7 7800X and Ryzen 3 7300X CPU Specs and performance numbers leaked online

A purported AMD Ryzen 7 7800X and Ryzen 3 7300X CPU with a total of 10 cores and 4 cores, respectively, has just surfaced on Geekbench 5. The Ryzen 7 7700X and the Ryzen 9 7900X appear to be sandwiched by the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X CPU.

According to the Geekbench database, the CPU has 10 cores and 20 threads. On AMD’s consumer CPUs, this arrangement is not very popular, but the company did produce a 10-core Zen 3 processor this year as part of its Ryzen 5000 Embedded series.

The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X CPU’s additional specifications include a 4.5 GHz base clock, 5.4 GHz boost clocks, and up to 64 MB of L3 cache. Instead of the single CCD design found in the remainder of the Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 5 processors, the cache and core count seem to indicate a dual Zen 4 CCD layout. The Gigabyte B650 AORUS Elite AX motherboard and 64 GB of DDR5 RAM were used for the CPU testing.

The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X CPU achieved performance scores of 20,97 in the single-core benchmark and 16,163 in the multi-core test. While the chip performs marginally worse in single-core testing than the 7700X, it performs up to 12% better in multi-core tests. In multi-core tests, the CPU outperforms the Intel Core i5-13600K. The AMD Ryzen 3 7300X achieves results of 7682 points overall in multi-core tests and 1984 points in single-core testing. In multi-core tests, this is roughly on pace with the Ryzen 5 5600X, but in single-core tests, it is substantially faster.

Because it may still be an early sample, the chip that powers the Ryzen 7 7700X may not be as powerful as it could be. Due to the identical 5.4 GHz clock speed of both CPUs, single-core performance should be comparable. The business will soon introduce its Non-X CPUs, and we might also get to see more Ryzen 7000X processors in action. AMD has not yet disclosed any plans for a Ryzen 7 7800X or a 10-core component.

It will be intriguing to observe how AMD markets these new components. The Ryzen 3 7300X will undoubtedly cost less than $200 US, while the Ryzen 7 7800X should cost between $400 and $500 US. Additionally, AMD will want to reserve some space for a 3D V-Cache processor, which is expected to be released around CES 2023. It appears that AMD is trying to persuade users to move to the AM5 platform by offering additional Ryzen 7000 alternatives.
