Indian head coach Rahul Dravid doesn’t rule out Jasprit Bumrah yet, from the T20 World Cup

Jasprit’s Bumrah getting injured during the practice session of the T20 series between India and South Africa has proved to be a nightmare for the Indian team just before the T20 World Cup. His availability for the tournament is questionable and initial reports suggested that he won’t be a part of it. However, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly confirmed that his inclusion in the squad will be finalised on October 15. Indian head coach Rahul Dravid said the same thing this Saturday.

Dravid didn’t leak out a lot of details and said “his participation in the game will be game will be clearer in the next few days”.

“I won’t go deep into medical reports. I will leave it on experts. We will get to know in next few days. Till I am officially told I will not rule him out of T20 World Cup.”– he said

The pacer was ruled out of the South Africa series after he had an injury in the practice session. Mohammad Siraj will replace him in the ongoing T20 series. The player has been spending most of his days in NCA for rehab owing to his previous injury. He missed the Asia Cup but was declared fit before the ICC World Cup.

He has been a part of the recently concluded T20 series against Australia but many eyebrows are being raised against BCCI, questioning the board that why it allowed Bumrah to play in the first place if he wasn’t completely fit. Experts said that Bumrah’s absence in the World Cup can minimise the team’s chances of going far in the game.

After Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid’s comments, we can decipher that there are still some chances of the pacer being included in the t20 World Cup if his reports are alright.

Right now, the BCCI Medical team is handling the situation and waiting for various reports to see the intensity of the injury. It should be noted that Bumrah will also have a very difficult time recovering before the World Cup. Even if he’s declared fit, he will miss the first few matches of the World Cup.

Healing from his back problems is more important than rushing in this tournament as it could threaten his entire career.

The management has also kept a few players in line in case, he doesn’t play. Mohammad Shami may be included in the squad whereas players like Umran Malik and Mohammad Siraj are the two good options for the net bowlers in Australia.
