As announced by the player himself on his Instagram profile, Memphis Depay changed agents recently. The player is out of a contract at the end of the season and will be leaving Lyon.

As outlined by Fabrizio Romano and Francesco Porzio on the Here We Go podcast, clubs negotiate with agents first. Barcelona were talking to Depay back in August. However, they had problems regarding the transfer fee with Lyon which is why the move fell through.

He has new lawyers now, and Barcelona are now talking with them directly. It is just a matter of details before the final deal is agreed. The Blaugrana are only willing to offer him a contract worth 2-3 years. They are confident and are talking with both Aguero and Depay regarding a move.

They will decide between either, or both of them at the end of the season. Ronald Koeman’s future is also supposed to be a factor in Depay’s recruitment. The former Netherlands national team coach wants a reunion with Depay, while the board is not very confident about the decision.

Sergio Aguero opens up about Lionel Messi, Argentina, Champions League, Manchester City & more

On the other hand, Sergio Aguero is very good friends with Leo Messi from their time together in the Argentina national team. The Manchester City striker is also a free agent at the end of the season, and could be signed by Barcelona to help score the much needed goals.
