Top 3 Indian goal-scorers in Indian Super League

The Indian Super League (ISL) started in 2014 with 8 teams. From the 2017-18 season, it became the top division league in India. Also, it was made a 10 team’s league. The excitement and competition of this league are still the same from the very first season, though the league has further been expanded to 11 teams from this season.

This is the 7th season of ISL. The league has gifted some immensely talented Indian footballers to grow under some highly experienced foreign managers.

Here is the list of the top 3 Indian goal-scorer in ISL’s history:

1. Sunil Chhetri [Bengaluru FC]

If you are talking about Indian strikers, one name always pops up. That is Sunil Chhetri. The Indian skipper is making his country proud on the international stage. His performance in domestic football is also astonishing.

Sunil has scored 40 goals in his 77 appearances in ISL. He has played two seasons with Mumbai City FC. This is his sixth season in ISL and fourth with Bengaluru FC. He is now 8 goals away to become the top scorer of ISL.

Jeje Lalpekhlua [SC East Bengal]

Another top Indian striker is on the list. Jeje Lalpekhlua joined SC East Bengal this season after playing the last 6 seasons for Chennaiyin FC. He has scored 23 goals in his 69 appearances in the league which makes him the second-highest Indian goal-scorer in ISL.

Jeje is yet to make a start in ISL this season for his new club.

Lallianzuala Chhangte [Chennaiyin FC]
