Zomato planning a mass firing of about 3% of its Workforce

Zomato, an online meal delivery platform, announced on Saturday that it plans to let off about 3% of its personnel in order to reduce costs and turn profitable. The move comes after other tech behemoths and social media platforms announced layoffs. According to Zomato, layoffs will be based on regular performance.

Zomato currently employs about 3,800 people.

In May 2020, Zomato lay off approximately 520 employees, or 13% of its workforce, in response to a drop in business caused by the Covid epidemic. Meanwhile, Mohit Gupta, co-founder of Zomato, resigned from the company on Friday.
