Main Vaapas Aaunga — The Big One
Imtiaz Ali’s period romantic drama makes its OTT debut after a strong 50-day theatrical run. Starring Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina, and Sharvari, the film follows a 95-year-old man whose fading memories pull him back to an unfinished love story rooted in the Partition of India, scored by A.R. Rahman.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
Mario, Luigi, and their crew head beyond space to save Princess Rosalina from Bowser and his son in this sequel to the 2023 hit. Expect new faces like Fox McCloud and Yoshi, streaming in multiple Indian languages on JioHotstar — a solid family pick for the weekend.
More to Watch
Siddharth and Jimmy Shergill headline the war drama Operation Safed Sagar, while Vadhandhi returns for a much-awaited second season. Ted Lasso is back after a three-year gap with a refreshed cast and premise. Regional audiences get plenty too — Malayalam thriller Uyir, Tamil drama Idhayam Murali, Telugu titles Nooru Saami and Lenin, and Malayalam thriller Kattalan are all dropping this week.
Reality TV Fans, Take Note
MTV Hustle Season 5 is also generating buzz, with Badshah returning as judge for India’s biggest rap reality show — though reports on the exact premiere date vary between August 8 and August 16, so keep an eye on official MTV and JioHotstar listings.
