Your OTT Weekend Just Got Loaded — 5 Telugu & Kannada Films Dropping This Week You Cannot Miss

Bored of scrolling endlessly? South Indian cinema is saving your weekend. Five fresh Telugu and Kannada films are hitting OTT platforms on June 5, 2026 — spanning action, drama, comedy, and a massively hyped Bollywood-crossover thriller. Whether you’re a fan of grounded stories or big-screen spectacle at home, this week has something for everyone.

Here’s your complete cheat sheet:

All 5 Films at a Glance

All five films stream from June 5, 2026.

1. Mechanic Rocky (Telugu) — SunNXT

Cast: Vishwak Sen, Shraddha Srinath, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Sunil | Director: Ravi Teja Mullapudi | Runtime: 2 hrs 36 mins

If you love high-energy entertainers with heart, this one’s your pick. Rocky is a carefree mechanic fighting to save his ancestral garage from a ruthless land grabber named Rankireddy. What starts as a property dispute quickly spirals into a massive life insurance scam, and Rocky — armed with nothing but street smarts and sheer grit — has to outsmart them all. Think Vikram Vedha energy but with more laughs and motor oil.

2. The Rise of Ashoka (Kannada) — SunNXT

Cast: Sathish Ninasam, Sapthami Gowda, B. Suresha | Director: Vinod V Dhondale | Runtime: 2 hrs 13 mins

A period drama with a powerful social spine. A young educated man from a barber community sacrifices his own ambitions to stand up against oppressors who have stripped his village of its dignity. Think of it as a story about identity, honour, and the cost of fighting for what’s right. Sathish Ninasam’s grounded performance is the anchor, and Sapthami Gowda — fresh off her Kantara fame — adds further star power.

3. Moolyam (Telugu) — ETVWin

Cast: Mohan Bhagat, Akhil Bhaneshwar, Deepak Merla | Genre: Drama

An introspective, dialogue-heavy drama that circles around self-respect and moral integrity. Not the flashiest film on this list, but the kind that lingers long after the credits roll. Best suited for viewers who enjoy quiet, character-driven stories with emotional weight.

4. Peter (Kannada) — Prime Video

Cast: Raajesh Dhruva, Janvi Rayala, Raviksha Shetty | Director: Sukesh Shetty | Runtime: 2 hrs 21 mins

A troubled drummer returns to his hometown, only to get pulled back into an old conflict that erupts during a temple festival. Peter weaves together love, betrayal, and raw violence against a culturally rich backdrop. It’s the kind of small-town noir that Kannada cinema does really well — raw, intimate, and deeply rooted in local flavour.

5. KD: The Devil (Kannada) — ZEE5 ⭐ Big Ticket Pick

Cast: Dhruva Sarja, Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Kichcha Sudeepa, Nora Fatehi | Director: Prem | Runtime: 2 hrs 21 mins

This is the one everyone’s been waiting for. Kali Dasa (KD) idolises the feared gangster Dhak Deva — but when their worlds collide, KD uncovers dark truths that shatter his admiration and force him to confront his own idol. The film traces his transformation from a starry-eyed young man into a reluctant but fierce warrior fighting for his family.

What makes this extra special? The ensemble — Sanjay Dutt as a menacing antagonist, Kichcha Sudeepa in a pivotal role, and Nora Fatehi adding glam. This isn’t just a Kannada film; it’s a pan-India event streaming on ZEE5.
