She’s already made Oscar history, and now Youn Yuh Jung is chasing Emmy glory too. The legendary actress has been nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her powerful performance in “Beef 2,” further cementing her place among global entertainment’s most respected talents.
The Nomination Details
On July 8 (local time), the 78th Emmy Awards announced its nominees, with Youn Yuh Jung nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her performance in “Beef 2.” She shares the category with an impressive lineup: Linda Cardellini for “DTF St. Louis,” Dakota Fanning for “All Her Fault,” Laurie Metcalf for “Monster: The Ed Gein Story,” Joy Sunday for “DTF St. Louis,” and Constance Zimmer for “Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bissette.”
What’s “Beef 2” About?
The show follows a young couple who witness an alarming fight between their boss and his wife, an incident that sets off a chain of power plays within the elitist world of a country club owned by a Korean billionaire, Chairwoman Park — the role played by Youn Yuh Jung.
The series is clearly an Emmy favorite this year, as “Beef” picked up 16 nominations total in the Limited or Anthology Series or Movie category, spanning acting, directing, writing, sound, casting, cinematography, and more.
