You have to work 76 days to buy an iPhone 13 Pro 128GB model in India

The iPhone 13 has been launched. For the Apple aficionados, it is that time of the year when they are more cheerful than usual.

While the brand-new iPhone 13 has created a frenzy among tech enthusiasts, the gadget’s cost is rarely mentioned in their effusive praises, prompting us to wonder exactly how many “Hard Days’ Nights” of work it would it take in 2021 for them to acquire one.

The high cost of iPhones deters most potential buyers. And compared to other phones with similar specifications, Apple devices are exorbitantly priced. The base model of the iPhone 13 starts from Rs 79,900 and goes up to Rs 1.1 lakh. The Pro Max model starts at Rs 1,29,900 and goes up to Rs 1,79,900.

According to new research by discount online market Picodi, entitled “iPhone Index 2021,” which uses average wage indexes from around the world. Picodi looked at iPhone 13 Pro (128GB) prices and average wages in numerous countries to develop its iPhone Index 2021, which determines how many days people need to work to buy Apple’s flagship product.

You have to work 76 days to buy an iPhone 13

A middle-class Indian consumer would have to work for almost two and half months i.e 76 days in order to secure the funds needed for the cost of the latest Apple iPhone 13 marvel. Millions of Indians earn significantly less than that amount, putting a new iPhone well out of reach. The index assumes that all of a worker’s earnings are put toward purchasing the cell phone.

Workers in just three countries included in the 2021 index – Turkey, Philippines and Brazil – have to work for a longer period to afford an iPhone 13.

Swiss workers have to work just 4.4 days to buy it, a shorter period than that needed by workers in all of the other 46 countries included in the index. Ranking second is the United States, where workers can buy the phone after just 5.9 days of labour, followed by Australia (6.4 days), Luxembourg (6.4 days) and Denmark (6.9 days).
