Yoo Seung Ho Is Playing Against Type — And “Flex X Cop 2” Is Better For It

Forget the roles you know Yoo Seung Ho for. In “Flex X Cop 2,” he’s stepping into the shoes of a chilling new villain, and the director himself is teasing just how unforgettable this turn will be.

Flex X Cop 2: The Big Reveal

The Season 2 teaser introduces new chaebol character Yoo Sung Won, played by Yoo Seung Ho, painting him as a chilling villain through his unsettling smile and hysterical expressions, with blood splattered across his face. >Season 1 featured Park Ji-hyun as the lead detective’s partner, while Season 2 brings in Jung Eun-chae, with Yoo Seung-ho now appearing as the season’s villain character.

Who Is Yoo Sung Won?

Yoo Seung Ho joins the drama as Yoo Sung Won, the youngest son of a powerful media conglomerate family and a sculptor, whose mysterious role hints at a major storyline unfolding throughout the season. Standing behind bars mockingly amused, Yoo Sung Won’s cool confidence is quickly picked up by new team leader Joo Hye Ra, who surmises that he’s proud and wants to boast that he’s the killer.

In one particularly chilling teaser line, he cryptically says, “The worst thing I’ve ever done? That’s a secret,” leaving fans questioning his true identity and hidden past.

What The Director Has To Say

Director Kim Jae Hong thanked viewers whose love made Season 2 possible, saying the team worked hard to create an entertaining drama that lives up to expectations, promising extraordinary and unique cases unlike anything seen in other dramas.

A Darker Season Ahead

The cases awaiting detectives Jin Yi Soo and Joo Hye Ra are more intense than ever, beginning with the discovery of a mummified body inside a suitcase and escalating into elaborate, brutal crimes including kidnappings and murder. The production team said they deliberately worked to subvert the trope that “a famous actor’s cameo equals the culprit,” inviting viewers to guess the real culprit alongside the detectives.

Season 1 earned widespread praise and reached a peak viewership rating of 11 percent, establishing itself as one of SBS’s signature seasonal drama franchises, joining the network’s growing lineup of hit crime dramas blending stylish action with genuine mystery.
